There are many inhibiting factors to getting your site crawled but at the time of writing (mid 2008) it should only take a few weeks to get your site crawled. The easiest way to ensure your site gets crawled quickly is to have quality inbound links and also to create an xml sitemap and submit this to both Yahoo! and Google.
